Bevo troppo
So Saturday was one hell of a long day as expected. I started work at noon and finished around 3:30 for my regular break. I was already tired but couldn't sleep when I went to take a nap. Later, I arrived back at work around 7:30 and it was chaos. We were so busy and luckily the 18 year old girl stayed out of my way. I ran the kitchen smoothly. My job was pretty much to assist my boss who was making and cooking the pizzas. I cut I don't know how much mozzarella and sliced so much prosciutto and never lost my cool when we started running out of things like mushrooms and tomatoe sause.
I was proud of myself and was relieve when we ran out of sause because 50 pizzas was enough for us and it was damned near midnight. So we cleaned up fast and got everything done by 1am and my boss insisted giving me a glass of Proseco (an Italian sparkling wine) and he toasted with me and he said "a tu" meaning "to you". So I appreciated that he appreciated my hard work. We ended up leaving by 1:30 which was fine by me.
I am also starting to think that people like showing me off. Like my boss is always introducing me to everyone as "Vincenzo, americano della Detroit" or like someone I barely know likes to walk around and be seen with me. Maybe I am overthinking it but regardless, I like it nonetheless.
Another thing I've been doing, is I am starting to think in Italian. Like when going through my clothes, I was thinking "questo e sporco" [this is dirty]. So thats a good sign I think that I am grasping the language (slowly).
Anyways, I've been on the internet too much this week and need to get some things done before I go back to work. Hope everyone is well and hope to get some comments!
Ciao tutti!

So I was looking in a catalog the other day and I found one of those belts that have the display where lighted words scroll across it and I got to thinking... Remember on our first date, at the Martini bar(duh of course you do), that guy who was wearing one of those and we wound up making fun of him the whole night??? Good times...no make that great times!! Love you!
